Meet Dana
I'm a yoga instructor passionate about helping all students see how yoga can play a role in their lives regardless of body type, age, or health issues/disabilities. The older I get the more I've come to appreciate that although everyone focuses on having a "yoga body," what we really need—and is attainable for everyone—is a "yoga mind." It gives me incredible joy to see students leave class looking lighter and calmer than when they walked in.
Even as a kid, I was interested in the idea of yoga, but yoga wasn't as accessible as it is now. It wasn't until I graduated from college and found myself living alone for the first time, in a new and stressful job, that I started searching for yoga in earnest. I found a class at a nearby center and I was absolutely hooked. Since my first class, I have personally taken a wide variety of classes and workshops ranging from athletic forms such as Ashtanga to gentle, restorative practices. All have served me in different ways at different stages of my life.
In 2005 I received my first 200 hour teaching certificate and I have been working with students ever since. In 2020 I expanded my training so that I am now registered with the Yoga Alliance at the RYT 500 level. In recent years I started to combine my love of yoga and travel, taking the opportunity to teach students at resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. I love connecting with students from all over the world!
Beyond yoga I am a mother, teacher, writer, business owner, community volunteer, passionate home cook, and world traveler.
